Where do I work?............ I work in Heidelberg and Kew
How long have I worked in Mental Health?............ 4 Years
Mental Health Experience............ I have worked in the public health system through Austin Health, as well as the private health system through the Victoria Clinic and private practice. My journey to becoming a psychologist began through working with psychologists in a large Government department, assisting vulnerable staff with their mental health issues and trauma. I then began volunteering as a telephone counsellor with Lifeline.
Who do I treat?............ Adolescents (15+) and adults
Areas of expertise........... Anxiety (in particular, social anxiety and health anxiety), emotion regulation and shame, depression, adjustment to change and life transitions (work, relationships, parenting), grief and loss. Development of healthy coping skills and adapting to life challenges.
My therapy style............ I work from the position of the therapist being a guide and companion on each client's unique journey. I believe in empowering clients through cultivating their self-understanding and, using their strengths and values, enhancing their capacity to change their own lives for the better. Exploring your inner world with you is a privilege, so I work at all times with respect and compassion, and genuine effort to understand you as a person. In collaboration with you, I draw flexibly upon the evidence-based therapeutic approaches that best suit your needs; which may include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotion-focused Therapy (EFT), Schema Therapy (ST), as well as positive psychology or solution-focused approaches.
